The regular membership of the 2D Reconnaissance Battalion Association is made up of persons who are now, or were, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion Marines or Hospital Corpsmen with provisions for both Associate and Honorary membership for family, friends and benefactors. The Association was informally established by a core group who had served together in 2005 and was formalized as a fraternal organization in June of 2007. The mission of the Association is to serve its members, to promote camaraderie and to foster, maintain and promote the traditions and well-being of the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion. In 2013 the Association was established as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation in compliance with the Internal Revenue code with the goal of growing the membership to facilitate providing more substantial support to our members and to the Battalion in general.
